Blue Origin used a previously flown rocket booster for a satellite launch and landed it again, but the satellite went into the wrong orbit.

The reusable booster of the New Glenn rocket launched from ⁠Florida ⁠on Sunday by Jeff Bezos' company Blue Origin ⁠touched down successfully but the rocket failed to deploy the AST SpaceMobile communications satellite it was carrying into the ​correct orbit.

The company, founded by Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos, attempted to place a satellite from AST SpaceMobile using its New Glenn rocket but was unable to get it as far into orbit as intended. Blue Origin's chief executive Dave Limp said the failure was caused by a lack of "sufficient thrust" in an engine.

The FAA has grounded Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket following an incident in which it failed to put a payload in orbit. There will be an investigation.
